Although these communities have different cultures, traditions and landscapes, many beneficiaries face a shared difficulty: moving from one place to another without considerable effort or assistance. Hussan Pari: Painting a Brighter Future Hussan Pari is a bright and polite Grade 9 student from Gilgit who loves to paint. Painting brings her peace and helps her cope with the difficulties around her. Like many children her age, she has big dreams for her future. She wants to become a doctor so that one day she can help people in need. Her family’s life changed on May 30, 2026, when her father, Zakir Hussain, fell from a roof and suffered a severe spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. He was no longer able to work, and the family lost its only source of income. To support the family, Hussan Pari’s mother started working as a private school teacher. However, what she earns is not enough to manage the family’s daily expenses, pay for her husband’s medical care, and cover the educational needs of their three children. Their financial situation became so difficult that Hussan Pari nearly had to leave school. Although her physical condition has limited her mobility, it has never diminished her spirit, curiosity, or enthusiasm for life. She loves playing games on the phone and even learned Urdu through it. A Broken Childhood, an Unbroken Dream: Umme Farwa’s Story At an age when children should only worry about school and playing with friends, Umme Farwa from Gilgit is carrying a very heavy burden. She is a bright Grade 5 student who dreams of becoming a doctor so she can help people in need. But on May 30, 2026, her life completely changed. Sadaf Uzair’s Gift Brings Mobility and Hope to Ali Khan in Gilgit-Baltistan Surrounded by the magnificent mountains and valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan, many remote communities continue to face a lack of basic facilities. Reaching these areas often requires travelling for hours across broken roads, steep mountain paths, and challenging terrain. For people living with disabilities, these conditions make everyday life even harder, as limited mobility can affect their independence, comfort, and ability to participate in their communities. Ali Khan’s life changed on January 20, 2014, when he fell from an electricity pole and acquired a permanent disability. Since that tragic accident, moving around and carrying out everyday activities has been a constant struggle for him. After years of living with these difficulties, Ali received a wheelchair delivered to his doorstep by volunteers working in the northern areas. For him, it is more than a mobility aid it represents greater independence, renewed confidence, and the freedom to move through daily life with dignity. Expressing his gratitude, Ali said, “I am extremely thankful for the wheelchair provided to me.
