Hope on Wheels in DG Khan: Shahzad Ahmad Rana Restores Mobility and Dignity to Hassina Bano
Hassina Bano, a middle-aged woman from DG Khan in South Punjab, has been living with polio since childhood. Despite her physical challenges, she never gave up and continued working with embroidery designs to support herself. Her creativity reflects her patience, strength, and determination to live with dignity in very difficult conditions.
After many years of struggle without proper mobility support, she experienced a customised wheelchair for the first time in her life. While talking, she smiled softly and then became quiet. She smiled and went silent, but that smile seemed to carry years of hidden pain, struggle, and emotions that words could not express. In that moment, she also prayed for the Gifter Shahzad Ahmad Rana with deep gratitude and heartfelt blessings.
This support was made possible under the initiative of Niaz Support for Disability in Pakistan, which is working to help people with disabilities in rural areas. Hassina Bano’s story also highlights the challenges faced by women in rural areas, including poor hygiene conditions and a lack of basic facilities. Her journey is a powerful reminder of hope, dignity, and the importance of compassion and support for vulnerable lives.
