Aliyan Khan’s Dream of Becoming a Scientist
Through Subah Sehar, an initiative by Niaz Support, children of parents with disabilities are given access to education, opportunity, and a chance to build a better future.
Aliyan Khan is a bright Class 4 student with a deep love for learning. He enjoys Mathematics and Science and dreams of becoming a scientist one day. His curiosity and determination reflect a strong belief in the power of education. Alongside his studies, he enjoys playing football, bringing joy and balance to his daily routine. Despite the challenges his family has faced, he continues to perform well academically, securing 85 percent in his annual examinations.
Aliyan’s journey has not been easy. Around five years ago, his father became paralyzed and lost the ability to work. Previously a driver supporting his family with dignity, his illness brought sudden financial and emotional strain. Medical treatments consumed the family’s savings, and due to limited healthcare facilities in their hometown, they eventually moved to Karachi for better access to treatment.
The challenges continued as the family lost its primary source of income, and at the same time, Aliyan’s elder brother began requiring lifelong dialysis after a serious health condition. Despite these hardships, the family remained committed to ensuring that their children continue their education, believing it to be their only path forward.
At this critical time, support through Subah Sehar allowed Aliyan to continue his studies without interruption. This support not only eased the financial burden but also gave the family hope and stability during a difficult period.
Niaz Support, founded by Hussain Odhwani, is Pakistan’s first award-winning social enterprise, widely recognized for its work in mobility, education, and empowerment. Through Subah Sehar, it continues to focus on educating children of parents with disabilities, ensuring they are not left behind.
Aliyan’s story is a reminder that with the right support, children can continue to dream, grow, and achieve, even in the face of adversity. His journey reflects resilience, hope, and the transformative power of education.
