A Broken Childhood, an Unbroken Dream: Umme Farwa’s Story
At an age when children should only worry about school and playing with friends, Umme Farwa from Gilgit is carrying a very heavy burden. She is a bright Grade 5 student who dreams of becoming a doctor so she can help people in need. But on May 30, 2026, her life completely changed. Her father, Zakir Hussain, fell from a roof and suffered a severe spinal cord injury that left him permanently paralyzed. Overnight, he could no longer work, and her family lost their only source of income.
Farwa’s mother tried her best to save the family by working as a private school teacher. However, her small salary is not enough to cover house rent, daily food, expensive medical bills, and school fees for three children. The financial struggle became so hard that Farwa almost had to leave school. Even through all this pain and worry, Farwa never gave up. She passed Grade 4 with great results and continues to show incredible courage, politeness, and a strong love for learning.
Thanks to the kindness of a generous sponsor, Farwa can now continue her education at Elysian School System through Subah Sehar, Niaz Support’s education initiative. This scholarship is much more than financial help; it gives Farwa and her family hope for a better future. It lets her know that her hard work matters and that her dream of becoming a doctor is possible.
