A Light in the Mountains: The Heartwarming Gift from Saeeda Ashraf

For decades, the mission of Niaz Support has been to carry hope and mobility to the most remote, forgotten corners of Pakistan, completely blind to the divisions of color, caste, creed, or culture. Today, that sacred journey led the volunteers—including eager, innocent children working side-by-side with the team—on a grueling, breathtaking expedition deep into the Lower Chitral valley toward the far-flung, mountainous settlement of Madaklasht. Navigating dangerously narrow roads and braving steep, treacherous mountain passes as evening turned to pitch-black night, the team proved that when it comes to restoring dignity to a human life, distances fade, risks become meaningless, and help always comes first.

This beautiful voyage was made possible through a deeply compassionate customized wheelchair gift from Saeeda Ashraf, which reached a young girl named Mehkan. Since 2010, when a devastating fever stole her mobility, Mehkan has been bravely battling a severe spinal cord condition that left her right hand and leg highly affected, while her family lacked the financial means to afford the proper care she desperately needed. The exact moment she was placed into her customized wheelchair, a new dawn broke; demonstrating incredible courage and a determined spirit, Mehkan immediately pushed the wheelchair forward completely on her own, replacing years of confinement with a bright, beautiful ray of hope.
