From Mobility to Dreams: How the Generosity of Dua’s Sponsor Helped Turn Hope Into a Future
Dua, a 17 year old girl from Tarlai, Islamabad, has spent her life fighting challenges that most people could never imagine. Living with a physical disability since childhood, even simple daily activities were difficult for her. Despite these hardships, Dua remained deeply committed to her education and dreamed of building a better future for herself. Her mother, Sidra, who is raising three children, recalls how difficult life became when her husband’s health suddenly deteriorated. What once seemed like a stable educational journey for Dua was interrupted when severe family and financial struggles forced her education to pause for six months. Yet even during the darkest times, Dua never let go of her dream of continuing her studies and one day becoming a teacher.
Two years ago, Niaz Support provided Dua with a customised wheelchair that changed her life in ways her family could never have imagined. Dua’s father suffered a paralytic stroke in 2013, lost his speech for a period of time, and today continues to battle multiple serious health conditions, including kidney complications, high blood pressure, breathing difficulties, and heart problems. Unable to work consistently, the responsibility of caring for the family fell entirely on Sidra, who continues to work tirelessly on her own without any external support. Managing the household, her husband’s illness, and her children’s future became an overwhelming struggle. Yet through all of these hardships, the kindness of Dua’s sponsor became a source of hope for the entire family. Because of this generosity, Dua is now studying in a good school, participating confidently in activities, and continuing to move closer to her dreams.
